Faculty Biographies

Douglas M. Towns is a partner in the Employment & Labor Practice at Jones Day. He represents employers in all areas of the labor and employment relationship. Mr. Towns' litigation experience ranges from representing employers in single plaintiff employment cases to large, complex class and collective actions. In addition to litigation, Mr. Towns routinely counsels and advises companies on a variety of employment issues, including structuring and implementing downsizing or other reductions in force, drafting and integrating EEO and compliance policies, and structuring executive employment packages. His experience also includes representing management during union organizing efforts, labor disputes and the bargaining table. He has authored numerous articles on employment law, and has appeared on as a national commentator on a variety of employment issues, including appearing on CNN Headline News. Mr. Towns received his J.D. from the University of Virginia where he was on the Editorial Board of the Virginia Law Review. Mr. Towns has taught for IAML for over ten years.
