Who Will Benefit:
All HR representatives and any manager who supervises employees will benefit from this basic to intermediate program, which will contain updates that even advanced managers can use.

About This IAML AudioPro ConferenceSM:
Retaliation claims may just prove the most difficult employment legal claims to defend. And, unfortunately, they are on the rise. In the employment discrimination arena, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) reports that retaliation claims nearly doubled in the last decade and now make up almost a quarter of all claims filed with the EEOC. By some estimates, each retaliation case costs the employer an average of $130,000.

In this conference we will cover:

  • A brief review of the source of retaliation in the law, including Title VII and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
  • Nuances within the elements of a retaliation claim
  • How to conduct a risk analysis in a potential retaliation situation
  • Major legal minefields such as investigations, timing, and spotting a complaint
  • Potential retaliatory acts since Burlington Northern v White

Participants will have an opportunity to ask Ms. Hable questions at the conclusion of this program.
